My phone rang and it was a new customer looking to buy a home. They had sold their home and were living in an apartment. They shared with me that they have great jobs, and she works from home. A couple key components to their search were the house most fit his commute to work radius and she needs a dedicated space for her home office. They also wanted to have a pool home that was within a couple of miles of the beach. They didn’t want the gated community lifestyle. They were pre-approved with a lender for a VA loan. So, now all we needed to do was find a home close to the beach, short commute time, with a pool, not a house to update, and has a dedicated workspace. Of course, affordable flood insurance was a must (and affordable flood insurance when looking close to the Gulf can be hard to find). So, we began our hunt. We had to look at homes after 5:30 because (you guessed it) we had to look when they were both off work. We looked at many homes over many weeks. They were getting a little frustrated. There were those drive-way pep talks, “The right one will come along!” “We will find it!”” Don’t give up”. After all they shouldn’t have to compromise on their needs in a home or their wants since this will be their forever home. As happens so many times when they were feeling frustrated, they walk in the door, and they found the ONE. The roof was newer, recently updated throughout. There was a nice pool and a dedicated workspace. It was just a couple of miles from the beach and right on the cusp of an acceptable commute distance. It was in a quiet little neighborhood on a street with no through traffic. They made their offer. Offer accepted. There were a few negotiating items that presented some obstacles to get over. But we negotiated through them and made our way to the finish line—the closing table! Now, they go biking to the beach on the weekends and after work they sit pool side at their own private oasis. That’s how they “Said, yes to the address!”
