Look at those faces!
Meet brothers, Sarge and Gunny, they needed a new home. Their humans decided it was time to downsize. They had a 4-bedroom pool home with a 3 car garage in Venice that was just too big for them. It was time for their dream beach home with a very important goal- to be within walking distance of the beach. Gunny and Sarge’s humans set out to find the “ Florida beach life” with the desire of more fun and less to take care of. One of the biggest factors for their beach life “HOME” it couldn’t be more than a five-minute walk from the front door to the beach. These folks are a hardworking couple who had recently retired; he served our country in the military and she as a RN, now it's time for relaxation. First step towards their goal, was to sell their current home. We listed their house and it immediately sold. And then the work got intense. Sarge and Gunny’s humans and Ray and I were looking daily through every new listing and old listing all over the Coasts of Florida both Gulf Coast and Atlantic Coast. We were all looking for a condo, villa, or townhome that allowed Sarge and Gunny. Who wouldn’t want these adorable doggie brothers living in their neighborhood? Well, let me tell you there are not many condos or villa communities that allow dogs, let alone two dogs, then add onto that these brothers are about 55pounds each. We hunted for months. The buyers moved into a short term rental home. The buyers themselves were hunting intensely and both were determined that the home they found would have the space and layout they needed. They made offers on a few, only to be beat out by other offers. They did have one offer accepted only to discover in the in the inspection the property was not in good condition and they cancelled the contract. (That is why inspections are so important). Oh goodness, now time at their rental is running out! Then they found the ONE! The community is very pet friendly, maintenance free, just a 4-minute walk to the beach, and it’s close to a dog beach, too. Plus, the home has a fabulous layout and all the spaces they were looking for; garage, office space, small yard, screened lanai, and two guest’s rooms. Was there a trade off? Of course, they looked at this home as an opportunity to make it their own (or you could say it needs some updating.) But waits there’s more. They have to close in 27 days! Would the lender and the title company be able to pull off a 27-day closing? In normal times that’s fast, and these are not normal real estate times. Fortunately, the lender and title company were on the ball and worked hard, the Buyers got every document requested sent immediately WHEW!!! got everything done before the short-term rental was up! Now Sarge and Gunny have a new home just blocks from the beach. Yesterday I saw pictures of Sarge & Gunny and their humans playing at the beach. Working for this incredible couple was such a pleasure and knowing they made their real estate dreams a reality makes Ray and I love what we do even more.
